Expo 2017 Astana, Kazakhstan
Expo Overview
Expo 2017 Astana, was held in Astana, capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan from June 10 to September 10, 2017. Centered on the theme "Future Energy", it gathered 115 countries and 25 international organizations as participants.
The Expo official emblem adopts a windmill as its core design motif. Its three blade-shaped segments symbolize perpetual wind energy, while blue, green and orange tones represent hydropower, ecology and solar energy respectively. The logo conveys circular energy use and sustainable green development.
The three mascots of Expo 2017 Astana – Saule, Kuat and Moldir – represent the “Future Energy” theme of the Expo as well as its host country, Kazakhstan. Saule, meaning “sunshine” represents the energy of the sun, giving light and warmth to the planet. Kuat, meaning “strength” or “power” embodies the power and beauty of nature, including green energy. Moldir, meaning “clarity” symbolises the energy of water as the main source of life. All three mascots reflect Kazakh culture in their style and bear the Expo’s logo on their chest.
Our Project Highlights for Expo 2017
Mr. Wan Guosheng, Chairman of our company, launched our World Expo-focused projects back in 2015. He later established EREN Corporation, our local subsidiary in Kazakhstan, to deliver comprehensive on-site operational support.
As one of the official Expo partners, our company co-organised Expo 2017 promotional events across 16 provincial-level regions of China together with the Expo Organising Committee and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). Separately, we provided reception services for government and corporate delegations from these regions. In addition, we served as the official supplier of sightseeing vehicles for heads of state from 22 participating nations.
